THE EXPERIENCE
Start with what you're hoping to change.
A ketamine journey goes best when you arrive with some sense of what you want from it. You don't need a polished answer, only a direction. See which of these feels closest to where you are.
A decision you keep circling. You want enough distance from it to see it clearly.
A pattern you're ready to loosen. A way of thinking, reacting, or coping that no longer fits.
A connection you want to rebuild. With yourself, a partner, your work, or the way you lead.
A transition you're in the middle of. You want steadier footing for whatever comes next.
Whatever you chose, or if none of them fit, the first conversation is where we sharpen it together. It's also where you ask your questions. Here is what the process looks like from there.
01
Medical Evaluation
Before anything is scheduled, a qualified prescriber reviews your health history and current medications to confirm ketamine is a safe and appropriate option for you. This step is required for every person, every time — no exceptions.
02
Your Session
Ketamine is administered orally, as a troche placed under the tongue — no needles. Effects are typically felt within minutes, with a peak lasting roughly 90 minutes to two hours. Your vitals are monitored throughout, and your coach stays with you the entire time. Plan for up to four hours total, including time before and after.
03
Integration
Integration will either happen immediately afterward or in the days and weeks that follow. You'll have a session with your coach to work through what came up during your ketamine experience and talk about how to carry it into daily life. This is often the part that determines whether a session leads to real, lasting change.

Ketamine is a safe, FDA-approved medication that has been used in medical settings since 1970.
It's prescribed off-label to support mental health and wellbeing, and unlike some other substances used in this space, it has always been recognized as a legal pharmaceutical.
At therapeutic doses, the nature of the experience is shaped significantly by intention, setting, and support, which is why preparation and a well-held environment matter as much as the medicine itself.
-
Ketamine has been extensively studied, including by researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health, and has shown meaningful results for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and certain chronic pain conditions.
Every participant completes a comprehensive medical evaluation before any session to identify personal risk factors.
Vitals are monitored throughout, and while side effects such as nausea, dizziness, or temporary changes in coordination are possible, they typically resolve within a few hours.
-
Every session is led by a certified Ketamine-Assisted Coach, working in close coordination with The Grounding House’s medical team.
Your coach guides you through preparation, your session, and integration afterward, ensuring the experience is held with both clinical rigor and genuine personal attention from start to finish.
-
Ketamine does carry some abuse potential in certain individuals, which is why every session takes place in person and under direct supervision.
For individuals without elevated risk factors, and when used as prescribed, ketamine can be administered safely on a periodic basis without dependency or lasting harm.
A medical evaluation helps determine whether this is the right option for you.
-
Coaching and therapy can both make use of ketamine, but they serve different purposes. Therapy is a clinical process aimed at diagnosing and treating trauma or mental health conditions.
Ketamine-assisted coaching is a non-clinical, forward-looking process focused on preparation, the guided experience, and integration, helping you translate insight into everyday change.
Coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and if that kind of support is what you need, you'll be pointed in the right direction.
-
This process tends to resonate with people navigating a transition, feeling steady on paper but not quite aligned underneath it, or simply looking for a more intentional way to reconnect with themselves, their relationships, or their sense of direction. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from this work. Curiosity and genuine readiness for change are often enough.
-
Ketamine isn't appropriate for everyone. This may not be the right fit if you're pregnant or nursing, have significant liver or kidney impairment, poorly controlled cardiovascular disease, active suicidal ideation, a severe substance use disorder, a known ketamine allergy, a recent traumatic brain injury, severe untreated sleep apnea, or a known aneurysmal condition.
Your medical evaluation takes your full history into account to help determine whether this experience makes sense for you.
-
Before your session, you'll complete a medical evaluation and a preparation meeting to clarify your intentions.
During the session, you'll be held in a calm, supported setting in Phoenix, typically for up to four hours including preparation and initial integration time. The medication's peak effects last roughly 90 minutes to two hours.
Afterward, structured integration support helps you carry what surfaced during your session into meaningful, lasting change in daily life.
